CANTOR HESH MAYERSDORF

Cantor Hesh Mayersdorf was born in Paris, France.   The atmosphere of fine music has been instilled in him from birth by his father, Cantor Morris Mayersdorf.

He began his musical career at the age of eight when he was featured as the lead soloist in synagogue choirs. From that time on through his formative years, he sang with many outstanding choirs.

Now a lyric tenor he began his formal musical education studying with several fine music and vocal coaches such as; Randall Marsh at Juilliard, and world renowned chazzanim such as Cantor David Koussevitzky .

Hesh was the music coordinator and vocalist for the CBC television documentary “Dor L’Dor.” He also appeared on numerous radio programs.

Cantor Hesh has performed worldwide from Lincoln Center to Carnegie Hall to The Hollywood Bowl where he has received wide acclaim for these performances.

His duties at Temple Sholom not only include his wonderful Shabbat and Holiday renditions, but Cantor Hesh teaches our B’nai Mitzvah Students and offers a Yiddish class to our members.
